AquaFunded Review 2026
AquaFunded isn’t your regular run of the mill prop firm. Launched in late 2023 under parent company AquaFunds, this Dubai-operated, Saint Lucia-registered prop firm merges the vision of profit for traders with ocean cleanup initiatives. Their slogan, “Trade for profit, trade for purpose,” also adds a philanthropic twist to a greed driven industry. Their charity initiative isn’t a gimmick, it’s a claim we were able to verify through their quarterly impact reports and partnerships with verified NGOs During our grinding 12-week test of this young prop firm, we traded funded accounts across forex, crypto, and indices, impressed by their 48-hour payout guarantee and lack of sneaky restrictions. But hidden fees for international withdrawals and rigid leverage rules did add some murk to otherwise crystal clear waters. Here’s our unfiltered take.

Why Trade with AquaFunded
Two words: Instant Funding. Skip evaluations entirely by paying just $39for a $2.5K account—a rare “pay-to-play” shortcut in the prop world. Combine that with their Reward Guarantee (get paid in 48 hours or pocket an extra $500) and you’ve got a compelling pitch for impatient traders that want to dive straight into the action. But there’s more, every dollar you make helps fund ocean cleanup and clean water projects. We confirmed this by tracking their charity partnerships—no greenwashing here.

Reputation
CLEAR™ Score 4.6/5
AquaFunded’s reputation is relatively solid overall, driven by glowing praise for its payout processing speed, customer support responsiveness and program transparency. However, they’ve had a few bumps in the road due to being a comparatively new prop firm, dealing mostly with growing pains from its rapid expansion. Using our Verified Feedback™ tool, which scrubs fake reviews and isolates genuine trader experiences, we analyzed over 1,500 user testimonials and found mostly praise for frictionless payouts and “no-BS rules.” But our tool also flagged recurring gripes buried in forum chatter and support tickets, like a mid-2024 “scaling freeze” that left traders stranded during market chaos.
While payouts and support are rapid, account scaling approvals drag. One user reported waiting 22 days for a $100K→ $200K upgrade during a volatile crypto rally, while others faced delays tied to vague “volatility checks.” The disconnect creates a split reputation: lightning-fast where it matters (cash access), sluggish where ambition lives (growth).
We stress-tested both sides:
- Payout speed: Withdrew $5,200 via USDC and it landed in 37 hours.
- Scaling speed: We requested a $50K → $100K upgrade and it took 14 days with minimal communication.
Speed here is thrilling when it works and super frustrating when it doesn’t.
What Traders Loved
- “Submitted my $8K withdrawal on Tuesday—had it by Thursday morning.” – James R., Texas (Verified Feedback™ ID: AF-3345)
- No strategy policing: Traders reported scalping news (on challenge accounts), running EAs, and holding positions overnight with zero restrictions or issues faced.
- Human-first support: Quick live chat resolution
What Traders Hated
- “Waited 3 weeks for scaling approval while markets exploded—missed a 30% BTC rally.” – Anonymous trader (Verified Feedback™ ID: AF-5582)
- Promo fine print: The “120% refund” requires 6 months of profitability, a detail buried in FAQ limbo.
- Inconsistent scaling: One user reported scaling to $200K in 10 days, while others waited weeks for weeks for $50K bumps arguing that it’s a liquidity stall tactic
- No Real Scalping for Funded Accounts: The 5-minute window during high impact news events where trading is prohibited basically removes scalpers from the game.
Our Findings: During our audit we tried to replicate these pain points. We had no problem scaling-up, and no platform crashes or payout denials surfaced in our tests. Also the AquaFunded charity partnerships checked out. For a firm that’s less than two-years-old it’s a solid foundation—but trust needs time to mature.
Additional Website Audit
We also conducted a website audit on AquaFunded using a reputable SEO tool, Ahrefs. What we found solidified the credibility and market presence of this prop firm:
- AquaFunded attracts 5.2K monthly organic visitors which is highly respectable considering that this firm is less than 2 years old. Their traffic grew 94% year-over-year, which signals highly rapid adoption and adds credibility. The firm’s top markets are the United States (54.3%), the United Kingdom (9.1%), India (7.7%), Morocco (4.3%), and Nigeria (4.0%), reflecting a strategic push beyond Western hubs into emerging regions like India (+92% traffic surge). While not yet a household name, AquaFunded’s 1.3K organic keywords, including rankings for “instant funding prop firms” and “MT5 prop firm” , show deliberate targeting of trader education and niche demands.
- Crucially, AquaFunded runs Google Paid Search ads (17 keywords, $102/month spend), a trust signal since Google vets financial advertisers. If you combine this with 87.3% error-free pages and diversified traffic, then our audit confirms a legit, growth-focused operation. Still, weak “branded” traffic (users searching “AquaFunded” directly) hints it’s still building name recognition against industry giants like Apex Trader Funding.

Account Types and Fees: Pay More, Skip More
CLEAR™ Score 4.3/5
Our testing of AquaFunded’s account structure revealed a wide variety of funding tracks across multiple challenge types (1-Step, 2-Step, 3-Step), and of course, the always tempting Instant Funding route. Who doesn’t like a shortcut right, and this is a classic “pay-to-skip” system in disguise. While traditional challenge paths let you ease in with a $5K account for just $38, the Instant Funding is a lot more expensive and nothing short of eye-watering at the upper account tier levels.
Each evaluation type comes with consistent rules: 9% profit targets, 3% daily loss limits, and 6% total drawdown. We appreciated the unlimited trading days, the lack of a ticking clock makes this firm a strong choice for swing traders or anyone avoiding the typical pressure-cooker timeline. And for traders who hate commitment, the full refund model is a rare highlight: pass your challenge, and you get up to 120% of your fee back, no strings attached.
Where things get less shiny is in the Instant accounts. Not only do they come with steep fees, but leverage gets throttled back to 1:30 or 1:50, versus 1:100 in the challenge accounts. That could seriously cramp your trading style, especially if you’re used to high-exposure strategies. AquaFunded pitches Instant Funding as a shortcut but with watered-down conditions and unclear scalability, it may seem like a way to squeeze higher premiums for many.
For those willing to take the long route, the firm rewards discipline and risk management over speed. But if you’re thinking of jumping straight to the top, better get your wallet ready and maybe a helmet.
Account Fees Comparison
Account Size | 1-Step Fee | 2-Step Fee | 3-StepFee | InstantFunding |
|---|---|---|---|---|
$5K | $67 | $57 | $55 | $210 |
$10K | $113 | $103 | $100 | $420 |
$25K | $227 | $217 | $200 | $950 |
$50K | $327 | $317 | $300 | $1450 |
$100K | $527 | $517 | $487 | $2145 |
$200K | $1017 | $997 | $950 | $3390 |
All listed fees are before discounts or promo coupons listed on the AquaFunded website.
What We Liked:
- 120% Refund Incentive: If you pass the evaluation your fee is refunded and you can earn an extra up to 120% back.
- No Time Limits: The challenges come with unlimited trading periods which reduces the pressure of the clock. You can take your time to nail your trades.
- Flexible Formats: You can choose from 1, 2, or 3-Step programs, or skip right into Instant Funding. We were impressed by the variety.
- Beginner-Friendly Options: You can start as low as a $2.5K account if you’re still testing the waters or strapped for cash.
What We Didn’t Like:
- High Instant Fees: A whopping $2,145 for a $100K Instant Account is a big ask. That’s aggressive pricing even for those who hate challenges and want to get right into the action.
- Reduced Leverage on Instant Accounts: Instant accounts are limited to 1:30–1:50 leverage vs. 1:100 on challenge-based accounts.
- Too Many Variations: Between 3-step, Pro vs. Standard, funding tiers, and instant options, it’s easy to get lost.
- No Clear Scaling Model: There’s no transparent path to increase your funding beyond initial account sizes.
Trading Conditions: Tight Rules But No Time Pressure
CLEAR™ Score 4.5/5
We found AquaFunded’s trading conditions to be both challenging and flexible as they are strict enough to discourage gamblers, but also lenient enough to support different strategies. Whether you choose a 1, 2, or 3-Step phase challenge, or completely bypass it with Instant Funding,—you can expect no time limits and fixed drawdown parameters. This is applicable to every account offered by AquaFunded and you can take your time without sweating the calendar. However, the funded accounts restrict scalping with the 5-minute trade restriction window during high-impact news events.
Profit targets are set at 9% for challenge models and 6–8% for Instant accounts, with daily loss caps of 3–5% and total drawdowns capped at 5–8%. While those metrics are industry standard, the standout here is consistency as there are no sudden shifts in rules as you move up account sizes. It’s a welcome level of transparency in a prop firm space known for fine-print surprises.
We did find one major trade-off and that’s leverage. The challenge accounts offer up to 1:100 but that’s reduced to just 1:30 or 1:50 for Instant Funded traders. That’s a disadvantage for scalpers and high-frequency traders that will have to opt for the challenge path instead. Another downside is that all payouts are bi-weekly, not weekly, which could feel slow for many traders in an industry that touts lightning fast payouts.
AquaFunded Trading Conditions Comparison
Feature | Challenge Accounts (1/2/3 Step) | Instant Accounts |
|---|---|---|
Max Daily Loss | 3% (1-3 Step) / 4–5% (Pro) | 3–4% |
Max Total Loss | 6% (1-3 Step) / 8% (Pro) | 5–6% |
Leverage | 1:100 | 1:30 to 1:50 |
Time Limit | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Payout Frequency | Bi-Weekly | Bi-Weekly |
Profit Split | Up to 100% | Up to 95–100% |
What We Liked
- Clear Risk Parameters: Fixed daily and total loss thresholds keep things simple. There’s also no sneaky rule changes mid-way through the challenge or after getting funded.
- 1:100 Leverage on Challenge Accounts: Generous leverage allows experienced traders to work with flexible position sizing and risk control.
- Same Conditions Across Sizes: Whether you’re trading a $5K or $100K account, the rules don’t randomly tighten or change as you scale.
What We Didn’t Like
- Reduced Leverage on Instant Accounts: Dropping down to 1:30 or 1:50 leverage feels like a downgrade for traders who prefer to have the option to up the stakes when the opportunity arises.
- Lower Profit Targets, But Also Lower Cushion: Instant accounts require less to pass, but the lower max loss (5–6%) offsets any real advantage.
- No Weekly Payout Option: Bi-weekly rewards work fine for most, but in the competitive prop industry there are some brokers that offer it on demand.
- “Up to” Profit Split Language: Instant accounts advertise “up to 100%” payouts, but the wording is vague which suggests that many may cap out around 95% depending on account tier and performance.
- Not for Scalpers: The 5-minute trade restriction window during news events does not permit genuine scalping.
Platforms: Fair Selection But Lacks Pro Tools
CLEAR™ Score 4.2/5
We extensively tested AquaFunded’s trio platforms of MetaTrader 5 (MT5), Match Trader, and TradeLocker, which revealed a setup aimed more at simplicity than raw power. For each platform we stress-tested both the desktop and mobile environments over a 5-week period, and overall they performed decently but it was clear from the start that there were some implementation issues, particularly for MT5.
Let’s start with their best platform, the world renowned MT5. It’s the platform favored by pro traders globally due to its deep market data, automated trading support, and advanced charting tools. It’s a great fit for anyone coming from MetaTrader 4 or trading at a semi-pro to professional level. But here’s the problem, other leading prop firms that offer MT5, such as Alpha Capital, also provide server locations, VPS hosting, free TradingView Pro, or integration with portfolio analytics tools. AquaFunded just gives you the keys to the MT5 platform, and you’re on your own. There’s no extras, no API, no enhancements, which significantly brings the overall “pro-level” experience down.
AquaFunded also offers Match Trader, which handled our stress tests without a hitch but it lacked tools for advanced indicator overlays and strategy backtesting.
And then there’s TradeLocker, which despite its modern UI and a layout style that reminds us of TradingView, we’re not fans. Since the platform lacks automation (think EA’s) or deep customization tools (we will like to tweak things) it’s primarily for rookies. We’ll be honest here, we tapped out after a few sessions as we’ve reviewed this platform multiple times and it’s nothing more than a basic onboarding tool and not something you’d want to scale serious capital with. You can refer to our dedicated TradeLocker review if you’d like to see our complete breakdown

Platform Comparison: AquaFunded’s Lineup at a Glance
Feature | MetaTrader 5 (MT5) | Match Trader | TradeLocker |
|---|---|---|---|
Best For | Pro traders, EAs | Discretionary traders | Beginners, mobile traders |
Execution Speed | High | Moderate | Moderate, with delays |
Accessibility | Desktop, Mobile | Web, Mobile | Web, iOS, Android |
Custom Indicators | Full | Limited | None |
Algo Trading | Yes (EAs) | No | No |
Charting Tools | Advanced | Standard | Basic (TradingView-like) |
CLEAR™ Execution Tracker Insights
We executed over 600 test trades across all three platforms during high-market volatility in order to accurately gauge and compare execution, slippage, and stability. MT5 came out on top as expected with stellar performance, while TradeLocker struggled with latency during volatility.
Platform | Avg. Order Execution | Slippage (Volatile Markets) | Stability During News Events |
|---|---|---|---|
MT5 | 35ms | 0.3 pips | No issues, highly stable |
Match Trader | 70ms | 0.5 pips | Minor delays, generally stable |
TradeLocker | 120ms | 1.0 pips | Chart freezes during volatility |
Note: Results based on internal tests as actual performance may vary by server load, user location, and trading volume.
What We Liked
- MT5’s Raw Power Despite Lack of Add-ons: Pro-level charting, automation, and execution tools that never disappoint. At least they offer MT5 which is more than most prop firms.
- Match Trader’s Stability: Decent overall platform. It’ll do the job for most.
- No Platform Fees: There is no monthly tech fee for the platforms provided. They are all free to use.
- Easy Mobile Execution: We were able to execute quick entries and exits on the go for all three platforms.
What We Didn’t Like
- Bad MT5 Implementation: Lacks VPS hosting and many key integrations such as TradingView Pro.
- TradeLocker: Rookie platform with major limitations and shady associations. Any broker or prop firm that offers this inferior trading tech is docked points by our CLEAR™ ranking system.
- No Custom Scripting for TradeLocker or Match Trader: You’ll have to rely solely on MT5.
- No cTrader or NinjaTrader: These platforms are popular choices and traders coming from other ecosystems might feel boxed in.
Payout Process: Fast but Fee-Heavy
CLEAR™ Score 4.4/5
AquaFunded’s payout system is quick with bi-weekly withdrawal options processed within a reasonable 1-2 business days. There’s a minimum withdrawal amount of $100 and traders can choose between bank transfers and cryptocurrency payouts through Riseworks.io.
Our testing revealed pricey fees for certain international transactions and these vary per your location. For a crypto withdrawal, we were charged $28 for a $1,000 USDC withdrawal.
What We Liked
- Fast Processing: Payouts are processed within 1–2 business days as to be expected of a leading prop firm.
- Flexible Withdrawal Options: Traders can choose between bank transfers and cryptocurrency payouts.
- Low Minimum Withdrawal: The $100 minimum withdrawal amount is reasonable even for beginners.
What We Didn’t Like
- Profit Split Upgrades at Extra Cost: Higher profit splits will require you to purchase add-ons at checkout which increase initial costs.
- Consistency Rule: The 15% consistency rule for the Instant Funding pro account mode is harsh and may delay payouts if a single trading day accounts for 15% or more of total profits during a payout period.
Customer Support: Surface Level
CLEAR™ Score 4.0/5
Customer support is available mainly by email and a contact form on the AquaFunded website. Live chat support is available but only during certain hours and is not 24/7—the standard set by industry leaders. They also maintain a presence on platforms like Discord which provides an alternative channel when urgent support is required. During our testing phase, their live chat resolved most of our issues within a 10 minute window—even during Ramadan hours (they are based in Dubai). However, our email queries took an average of 3 business days to receive a response.
Customer Support Performance Results
Metric | Performance |
|---|---|
Email Support | Responded within 3 business days on average during our testing. |
Live Chat | Available during specific hours and is not 24/7. |
Community Forums | Active Discord channel for peer support and company announcements. |
What We Liked
- Active Discord Engagement: Their Discord channel provides real-time updates and peer-to-peer support.
- Dedicated Support Channels: Multiple options to reach their support such as email, live chat, and discord.
What We Didn’t Like
- Limited Live Chat Availability: The absence of 24/7 live chat support is a major disadvantage and crucial for trading.
- Inconsistent Response Times: While most of our issues were resolved quickly, we experienced delays for more complex queries.
- Lack of Direct Phone Support: The absence of a direct phone line means real-time support is limited.
- No Listed Office or Physical Branch: The absence of a physical office lowers credibility.
